As a part of the global campaign for World Nature Conservation Day 2025, DHORA and Waterkeepers Bangladesh organized a public awareness event on July 28, 2025, at the field of Shamoli Park in Dhaka. With the slogan “Ensure Legal Rights of Bangladesh Rivers” the event appeals the authority to free all the rivers of Bangladesh. Moreover, the event emphasized to disseminate a message of unity in protecting nature, to advance the national movement for conservation, and to inspire institutions and individuals to become more aware of the environment. During the event, Md. Ikbal Faruk, Syed Taposh and Shahriar Shawon spoke on the occasion. Participants emphasized the importance of ensuring the rights of nature. They noted that restoring rivers and natural ecosystems can help establish peace, prevent resource-based conflicts, and enhance resilience in disaster-prone communities. Speakers also highlighted the day’s focus on protecting endangered plant and animal species. Participants carried banners and placards underscoring the significance of the day and its powerful call to action for environmental protection.
