On March 18, 2025 Tuesday, a joint initiative by DHORA-Habiganj and Khowai River Waterkeeper conducted an inspection of illegal sand extraction, encroachment, and pollution in the Khowai River. The inspection was led by Khowai River Waterkeeper Toffazul Sohel, with the participation of Dhara-Habiganj activists Tahmina Begum Gini, Saiful Islam, Iftikhar Ahmed Fagun, a faculty member of Habiganj Agricultural University, Alka Saha Roy, Sharmeen Ahmed, among others.
