Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today said the well-marked low that formed over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean yesterday still persists.
The system is likely to intensify further, BMD said in its morning weather bulletin.
BMD has forecast rains in the weather outlook for next five days.
Meanwhile, the bulletin says weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in 24 hours commencing 9:00am today.
During the period, light to moderate fog may occur in different areas over the country during late night till early morning, it said.
The night and day temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
Wind direction and speed in Dhaka will be north-northwesterly at six to 12 kilometres per hour.
This morning, BMD recorded the country’s minimum temperature at 13 degrees Celsius at Badalgachhi.
